Our Collaborator Program

This is an exciting program for us to be able to offer, we continue to find the need to help beekeepers at all levels of experience right across Australia.

The idea of this program is designed to allow us to provide the same great level of service and offers to areas outside of Ricks (The Backyard Beekeeper) current scope. This will then benefit our exclusive clients with great Beekeeping personal support.

If you are interested in becoming part of our external support team and able to provide our outstanding service to all our current and new clientele, then get in contact today. We provide full training and guidance to our collaborators to ensure you receive the same excellence in service as you would from The Backyard Beekeeper himself.

Introducing our First 2 Collaborators who come with plenty of experience (having worked alongside both at a commercial level for the last 2 years) that will broaden our support reach to the Kingaroy district and the South Brisbane, Gold Coast areas.

Get in touch today if you wish to Book our collaborators or interested in the program yourself.

Meet Steve

Collaborator Commenced 2024

Queensland born and bred with generational agricultural experience including growing up with our beautiful honey bees, this is where Steve’s love of beekeeping began!

Steve lived a suburban life for some time, where he married and raised a wonderful family including four children and then with the thought of retirement he wanted back on the land he loved. Steve and his wife purchased 300acres in the South Burnett area of Queensland.

Steve is passionate about giving back to his community, formally a Scout Leader (of 18 years) and currently volunteers at Rural Fire Brigade, Member of his Local Community group and immediate past President of an Incorporated recreational beekeeping group base in Kingaroy, so you can rest assured you are in safe hands with his training and experience.

His experience in the Recreational Beekeeping Group includes training, education and hands on experience with an array of hive types.

Steve has been involved in a number of educational displays and even providing short courses for disadvantaged youth and is a member of the Queensland Beekeeping Association.

Steve is passionate about sharing his knowledge, experience and expertise to the future generations of beekeepers at a time where beekeeping skills are so vital.

Steve will be looking after Northern Clientele - 30km radius of Kingaroy, QLD, but he will travel further if needed, just ask us for a quote.

Meet Grace

Collaborator Commenced 2024

Grace is a passionate and enthusiastic beekeeper but has a way with bees that not many people possess. Just like in the pics you often see Grace in the beehives working away without her veil and in shorts, quietly to herself enjoying the moments.

Queensland born and bred her passion began very early in life, assisting her mother with their very own Backyard Beehives.  She has been doing this for over 10 years and the last almost two years has been working at Covey's Queens. This has widened Grace's experience to a commercial level with handling apiaries at volume and for the past season Grace has been the key queen grafter for the Coveys Business.

Her passion has now evolved- Grace has been studying Horticulture and this has broadened her knowledge to be able to assist with plant knowledge, food source and pollination providers and well as landscaping for her clients.

Grace's motivation is to provide knowledgeable and competent training to assist the next generation of beekeepers and she is excited to join our collaborators program to provide a service that is second to none!

So you can rest assured Grace has the knowledge, experience and expertise to guide you on your beekeeping journey!

Grace located in Logan Lea will predominately be looking after our South East Queensland Clientele.
